Women Trailblazers: The contributions of Madeleine L’Engle

The author of “A Wrinkle in Time”

Poster Print from LP Editions

March is Women’s History Month and throughout the month I will sprinkle some inspiring women in this blog amongst my “fanwomaning” BTS entries and other babblings. Today, I celebrate Madeleine L’Engle, best known for her young adult fiction, who wrote her first book at age five and started keeping a journal at eight. But did you know her popular book, “A Wrinkle in Time,” was rejected over 30 times before finding a publisher? When the book was finally published, it became a classic, and sold over 16 million copies in 40 languages. The book won the Newbery Medal, the highest honor awarded to authors with the most distinguished contribution to American literature for children.

Learn more as we honor Madeleine L’Engle and the influence she’s had on young women for Women’s History Month this March.
